GIS
Our GIS services
Geographic information systems (GIS) are used to create, manage, analyse, and map all types of data. GIS connects data to geographic information, integrating location data with all types of descriptive information about the situation in that place.
Diegesis brings a breadth of knowledge to GIS including data management, business intelligence, content and document management, web content, portals, archiving records management, automated data capture (from documents, graphics, photos). We have partnered with IMGS and Hexagon GIS to provide comprehensive GIS-based solutions to our joint customers.

GIS in Action
Darlington Project
Diegesis used Open Source technologies for this GIS project, mostly Python and the desktop app QGIS. Various methods were used to classify 1931 maps into different land uses based on their colour and to help fill the gaps in missing census data. Diegesis used a range of methods to analyse both vector and raster data to produce patterns and influence decision making.
